Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care is a field that specializes in the diagnosis, management and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. iMed Centers is the premiere choice for Norwalk chiropractic care.
During your initial exam, you'll fill out an intake to let the doctor know your areas of pain and your medical history. Once the intake is completed, you'll meet with the doctor to further discuss your condition. Your chiropractor will go over your medical history and perform a series of exams including range of motion, orthopedic and neurological exam. Based on the findings of your exam, your chiropractor will discuss your diagnosis, treatment plan, goals and prognosis.

Can Chiropractic Care Help me?
Chiropractic care specializes in musculoskeletal conditions such as neck and back pain. The best way to tell if chiropractic care can help you is to schedule an appointment with our chiropractic physician. He will perform a thorough physical exam involving range of motion, orthopedic and neurological test. Once a diagnosis has been established, he'll tell you if you would benefit from chiropractic care or another of our treatment options.
Is Chiropractic Care Safe?
Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Although chiropractic has an excellent safety record, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects. The risks associated with chiropractic, however, are very small. Many patients feel immediate relief following chiropractic treatment, but some may experience mild soreness, stiffness or aching, just as they do after some forms of exercise. Current research shows that minor discomfort or soreness following spinal manipulation typically fades within 24 hours
Does My Insurance Cover the Treatment?
The answer to this question varies depending on your health insurance plan. Although most insurance plans cover chiropractic care, the best way to know your coverage is to call our office and one of our team members will be happy to do a no obligation insurance verification. Some of the insurance plans that we accept in our office include:
-
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
-
United Health Care
-
Aetna
-
Cigna
-
Oxford
This is not an all inclusive list, if your insurance is not on this list, give us a call and we can verify your coverage.
Is Chiropractic Care for life?
This is a great question. No, for most patients chiropractic care shouldn't be for life. If you have an acute injury, you can get treated and discharge relatively quick. On the other hand, there are people with chronic pain who use chiropractic care as well as frequent visits to their orthopedist or rheumatologist to manage their pain. There are others who understand the benefits of staying flexible and mobile and see their chiropractor once a month, similar to how they see their dentist every 6 months.
